A coworker was going to Braums, which sounded yummy. I ate my green beans and asparagus, my Triscuits and stayed healthy. This afternoon I couldn't stop thinking of sweets or salty junk food, but I refrained.

I didn't do my after work walk tonight, my son was hungry and it was dark after we ate. I should have done the walk anyway because I fell asleep in the recliner again. Sometimes it feels I can't get enough sleep.

Speaking of which, g'night y'all.

Lenahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00094007546867918884noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2471516829913826859.post-61480640574229346822017-01-16T18:31:00.001-06:002017-01-16T18:31:29.273-06:00January 16, 2017I hate measuring and counting calories. It's so frustrating. Especially when my weight isn't moving. On the other hand, I've been counting anyway. I've finished for the day and am at 1250 calories. I've drank over 64 oz. of decaf green tea (I just dump the tea bags into my gallon of water).

I was up at 5:30 this morning and went to the gym. I'm dragging now, but I did it. I was trying to figure out how early I need to get up if I'm going to the gym every morning. This morning was only 20 minutes on the bike, but I did it.

In the future, I need to get up at 4:30. I'm so not looking forward to that. The goal is to get back to where I was this summer when I went every week day from the 2nd week of June until the kids went back to school on August 11.

Too much sitting is making me sleepy again.

I'm falling back in the habit of not doing it. I'm still tracking, but MyFitnessPal has me at 1400 calories and I think I need to reduce that.

Breakfast has been oatmeal and peanut butter. Lunch this week is fried rice. With lots of veggies. Dinner yesterday was a sandwich. I was tired.

This week has been going pretty fast, I guess that's not a bad thing, but I'm tired even though I'm going to bed earlier, I'm falling asleep in my chair in the evening.

I'm so sick of it already, though I know it's just an episode and I'll work through it. I did weigh and measure yesterday, and 4k steps. Only 33 oz of water though, so my goal is higher today. The weekends are harder for me on water.

I'm waiting to see if weaning myself off the antidepressant like I did is going to cause problems. I was experiencing some nasty side effects and don't know if I need another prescription or what.

I finished my day yesterday on plan. I didn't get as many steps as I wanted, and I figured something out. I need a better plan for days that I have meetings at the bottom of the hour. I have been on conference calls when my FitBit reminds me to walk.

Today I'm doing better at the steps, so my plan is working. :)

Lenahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00094007546867918884noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2471516829913826859.post-28285609488278508462017-01-05T07:05:00.001-06:002017-01-05T07:12:45.199-06:00January 5, 2017
I didn't post last night, but I still did the measuring. I got more steps yesterday than Tuesday, but my goal today is 5,000. Once I do that consistently then I'll aim for 7500, then 10,000.

I went over by 70 calories yesterday. I got home with my nerves so shattered it almost felt like a panic attack. I had a day where everyone wanted something from me, and it was just too much. Thank God, today the girl I was covering for is back today and I will only have my work to worry about, not hers too. That's what my problem was, too much to do, not enough time. Then I beat myself up over it. Blah.

Today I'm going to try to walk on the treadmill at lunch and see if that helps. I got crap for sleep so need to go to bed early, I just couldn't relax last night and was still awake when hubby got home just after midnight. That makes 6 am seem way too early.

Because of that, I'm not posting my screen shots from the MyFitnessPal app.

My goal today is to take more steps than yesterday, cut out or at least back on the chocolate and do better at planning my dinner. I was able to keep it in my calorie budget, but I'm not happy with randomly choosing dinner at 6 pm and not eating until after 7.

We got some interesting news at work, and some of my coworkers were up in arms. I did allow myself some chocolate, but allowed for it in my calories. Other than that, I stayed on plan. It wasn't a bad day overall.

I started increasing my steps today as well.

I have a digital scale on order, and meals planned for the week.

I'm not going to be following the same meal plan I did in 2011. Instead I am going to be coming up with my own. I will be focusing on vegetables and fruits. I will be eating whole grains. I will be eating lean meat. But I want to be able to eat pizza with the kids. I want to be able to eat out without trying to figure out what matches the meal plan.

Breakfast this morning was oatmeal with 1 tablespoon of maple syrup and 1 tablespoon of peanut butter. I also had a 30 oz hot tea with 1 tablespoon of honey and 1/2 cup milk.

My lunch is packed and I have a plan for water. I will work to get my steps in today with the Fitbit reminders.

I also started with squats every time I go to the bathroom. I've been drinking a green smoothie for breakfast for about 3 weeks and my mid-morning snack is 1/2 cup plain yogurt with 1/2 cup blueberries and 1 tbsp of honey.

What I need is to cut out more of the crap and start exercising 4-5x a week for 25 - 30 minutes. I start back with exercising today.

Dinner tonight is an omelet and bacon. Tomorrow is homemade pizza. I can do this even with the sugar craving. I've done it before.

I am doing it earlier in the day now to help ease my stiffness at work.

Lenahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00094007546867918884noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2471516829913826859.post-24616592521828239932015-05-06T21:07:00.001-05:002015-05-06T21:11:44.609-05:00Day 12
Because of the issues with my phone, I was at the t-mobile store last night. I did the yoga but forgot to post.

Today I did it again. I may be on a roll.

I'm tired tonight, so I'm going to bed now. Hopefully I get enough sleep that I don't feel exhausted tomorrow.

It may just be the stress at home that causes me to be so tired all the time.

Lenahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00094007546867918884noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2471516829913826859.post-42862530107172129652015-05-04T21:26:00.000-05:002015-05-04T21:26:51.702-05:00Day 10I did the yoga tonight, and personal training today. I added some other poses that I'm too lazy to look up now.

I'm still exhausted, and I got light headed during the personal training today. I also felt rather ill when hubby and I walked around the mall while the kids were in Tae Kwon Do.

I hope I'm not sick, as I'm on the sheet to donate blood tomorrow, my 44th birthday. Every time I've tried over the last year, my iron has been too low, but I've been taking extra iron off and on for the last year. My iron wasn't dangerously low, just a tad low according to the doctor who does my yearly female checks.

I'm going to bed a bit early because I am tired.Lenahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00094007546867918884noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2471516829913826859.post-11064499483960525072015-05-04T08:10:00.000-05:002015-05-04T08:10:01.019-05:00Day 9So, I didn't do what I was supposed to last night. I will start again tonight. No excuses, last night I felt like crap because of TOM. No big, it's a monthly thing, so I need to get over it. In the meantime, I'll work on some of the poses today, and I've got my personal training today.

I'm having phone issues, so posting from my phone may be problematic tonight. If I can't do it, I'll either post by computer, or when I get to work the next morning like today.Lenahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00094007546867918884noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2471516829913826859.post-90820105415925231232015-05-02T21:38:00.001-05:002015-05-02T21:40:13.507-05:00Day 8
I added a few more poses tonight, cat, cow, down puppy. I moved up to a 15 count.

I spent a lot of time stiff today, but I got dehydrated, so that may be why. Hubby got a sunburn, but I didn't.

Lenahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00094007546867918884noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2471516829913826859.post-78479388055617014352015-05-01T23:20:00.001-05:002015-05-01T23:24:17.465-05:00Day 7
I almost didn't do it tonight, but I thought I should go ahead and finish the week out. Day 7 is in the books it's late and I'm tired but we're there.

Last night I ended up with almost 10 hours of sleep. I fell asleep around 8:30 didn't get up until 5:30. I was less tired today.

We saw the Avengers movie tonight for my birthday. I liked it overall, though I saw a couple of reviews complaining about the number of characters.

Lenahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00094007546867918884noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2471516829913826859.post-4370179304121843052015-04-30T20:24:00.001-05:002015-04-30T20:24:29.065-05:00Day 6
Ugh. I can't stay awake tonight, so I'm headed to bed at 8:20. This isn't as unusual as I'd like it to be, unfortunately.

I did 30 minutes of personal training tonight, this time arms/upper body. So I skipped the down dog tonight. I did all the other yoga poses though. I'm still at a 10 count for 1 more day, then I add 5 and more poses.

Lenahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00094007546867918884noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2471516829913826859.post-16850581259701548022015-04-30T09:00:00.001-05:002015-04-30T09:02:13.190-05:00Day 5
I was too tired last night and forgot to post.

I did all of my yoga poses, still at a 10 count. I'll move up next week.

I also did 30 minutes of personal training, working on my legs. The upper body personal training is today.

Lenahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00094007546867918884noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2471516829913826859.post-33163515666228055982015-04-28T21:22:00.001-05:002015-04-28T21:22:51.973-05:00Day 4
I'm noticing that I'm not as stiff as I was. I'm not 100% better, but I am better.

Tonight I did the same as before including the mountain pose, tree and side bends. I did some extra leg stretches as well. My hip is aching, but I was able to stand up from my desk with no stiffness today. Yay :)

I've been adding veggies into my diet, but need to add more. I've been watching what I eat, but might need to bring the calories from 1460 to 1350. I need to exercise more. This I know.

On the other hand, I've been doing personal training for 30 min twice a week, and now I'm adding the stretches/yoga. I'm making progress, and have committed to an exercise challenge the month of May. I'm making the changes slowly so they stick around and I can keep the changes permanently.

I'm feeling a bit less stiff most of the time, but I want to regain flexibility, not just feel less stiff.

Still working on it.

It's not any easier yet, but as I said, it's only day 2.

I did add a few extra poses to stretch a bit more. I also did a mountain pose to focus, then a 10 second tree pose.

I still woke up stiff, but I didn't expect overnight success.

1) I'm having trouble reaching things. I'm not flexible any more, not like I used to be. Some might not notice it, but I do. Especially with the young kids still.

2) I have absolutely no energy. I'm constantly feeling worn down and want to sleep more than anything.

So tonight I'm starting with the first phase of my change. Tonight I did a total of 10 yoga poses, holding them gently and counting to 10 with each one. As they get easier, I'm going to increase the number and the time.

The poses are as follows:

down dog
warrior 2
warrior 1
reverse warrior
side angle (done on both sides - I repeated all warrior poses when I went to do the side angle on the other side)
wide legged forward bend
half lord of fishes pose - both sides
child's pose

I held each pose for a count of 10, but I'm thinking I'm going to look on Amazon for a full easy 15 minute routine to work out the kinks

The lack of energy may get better with a daily yoga practice. The 1/2 hour twice a week personal training isn't helping. I'm keeping active, and I'm wanting to sleep more than anything.

We'll see what happens Either way, I'll be doing the warrior poses, the angle pose and the forward bend at least once a day. The rest will be done before bed. Today I wanted a scone but I chose to eat what I have at work.

I'm going to have to work on that.

So I was on plan this weekend - I even went to the gym on Saturday, though I couldn't go to yoga - the class I was going to has been discontinued. I did 45 minutes on a recumbant stair climber. I'm sore 3 days later.

Monday I took off work to do some things I can't on the weekends and work on the house. I only managed 30 minutes on the treadmill.

Today, no exercise but I ate within my 1200 calories.
It was hard, and I did eat more than 1200 calories, BUT I spent 30 minutes on a recumbent stepper, then I did 10 reps of various leg and arm weights. I'm sore all over, but I know it's good.

Net calorie intake today, 1200 calories per MyFitnessPal. Lose It! has about the same. I'm logging in 2 places to try to make sure that I'm doing what I'm supposed to.

I also got the water I was supposed to get today. That's another thing I haven't been good about on the weekends. I let my water intake drop drastically.

All in all, it's a good day. We'll see what the scale says tomorrow, though I won't let it rule my mood. I'm getting hungry while I play with the design on my blog. Maybe I should go to sleep instead now.Lenahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00094007546867918884noreply@blogger.com0
